چکیده

In this paper we address the problem of predicting human body configurations and appearance for the task of humanmotion tracking in video. Unlike many previous approaches that relied on simplified body models, we are able to use detailed models of body shape. Having rendered the body model onto the current video frame, we make use of the optical flow information to propagate the body configuration to the next image frame. Parameters are estimated via a robust optimization technique which is based on a Kalman filter approach to the prediction of body configurations in the space of articulated body motions. Results are shown demonstrating the effectiveness of our approach.

Video Motion Capture

This paper demonstrates a new vision based motion capture technique that is able to recover high degree-of-freedom articulated human body configurations in complex video sequences. It does not require any markers, body suits, or other devices attached to the subject. The only input needed is a video recording of the person whose motion is to be captured. For visual tracking we introduce the use...

Tracking People with Twists and Exponential Maps

This paper demonstrates a new visual motion estimation technique that is able to recover high degree-of-freedom articulated human body configurations in complex video sequences. We introduce the use of a novel mathematical technique, the product of exponential maps and twist motions, and its integration into a differential motion estimation. This results in solving simple linear systems, and en...

Prediction of Above-elbow Motions in Amputees, based on Electromyographic(EMG) Signals, Using Nonlinear Autoregressive Exogenous (NARX) Model

Introduction In order to improve the quality of life of amputees, biomechatronic researchers and biomedical engineers have been trying to use a combination of various techniques to provide suitable rehabilitation systems. Diverse biomedical signals, acquired from a specialized organ or cell system, e.g., the nervous system, are the driving force for the whole system. Electromyography(EMG), as a...

Expressive Models and Comprehensive Benchmark for 2D Human Pose Estimation

In this work we consider the challenging task of articulated human pose estimation in monocular images. Most of current methods in this area [4, 8, 16, 14] are based on the pictorial structures model (PS) and are composed of unary terms modelling body part appearance and pairwise terms between adjacent body parts and/or joints capturing their preferred spatial arrangement. In this work we advan...

JOHNSON, EVERINGHAM: CLUSTERED MODELS FOR HUMAN POSE ESTIMATION 1 Clustered Pose and Nonlinear Appearance Models for Human Pose Estimation

We investigate the task of 2D articulated human pose estimation in unconstrained still images. This is extremely challenging because of variation in pose, anatomy, clothing, and imaging conditions. Current methods use simple models of body part appearance and plausible configurations due to limitations of available training data and constraints on computational expense. We show that such models...
